The British government sells British Leyland to DAF. |

DAF runs into financial difficulties and Leyland DAF
is placed in receivership. |

A management buy-out team forms Multipart (Holdings)
Limited (MHL) and buys the UK aftermarket parts operation
from the receivers. Other management buy-out teams
acquire the three manufacturing elements out of Leyland
DAF, forming:
MHL provides the aftermarket support to all three
manufacturers. |

Lex Service plc acquires 100% of MHL and creates Lex
Multipart Logistics (LML). |
| 1997 – 2003 |
LML broadens its client base with contract wins with
Dennis Eagle, Isuzu Truck (UK) Ltd, Hyundai Car (UK)
Ltd and Fleetguard. |
| Lex Service plc develops
the business and enhances market focus |
| 2000 |
LML expands its core service offering into the defence
sector by creating Lex Multipart Defence to focus on
the growing defence industry outsourcing market. |
| 2001 |
LML creates Lex Fleetserve to take advantage of the
growing airport under wing market, using LML capabilities. |
| 2002 |
Lex Service plc renames the parent company RAC plc. |
| 2003 |
RAC plc established the Lex Auto Logistics brand to
focus on the Automotive sector and new market sectors
including Utilities, Retail, Hi-tech, Manufacturing,
Telecomms, Gaming and Vending. |
| Acquisition by Imperial
Holdings |
| 2006 |
Lex Multipart Limited acquired by Imperial Holdings
of South Africa. Lex Multipart Limited becomes Imperial
Multipart Limited (IML). Imperial’s activities
include logistics, vehicle distribution, fleet management,
transport, tourism, aircraft and vehicle leasing, insurance
and banking. IML is a key strategic growth opportunity
in the UK for Imperial. |

IML creates Multipart Supply Chain Solutions, Multipart
Defence and Multipart Fleetserve. |
